Event Description

The term cancer survivor is now well used, referring usually to any person who has previously been diagnosed with cancer, and those close to them. However, not all people with cancer identify as a survivor. This presentation will discuss how language about cancer shapes responses to illness and suggest what might be important questions for the future about cancer survivorship.
This workshop will be presented by Prof Suzanne Chambers, Menzies Foundation Professor of Allied Health Research Menzies Health Institute Queensland, Griffith University, Australia.
This free workshop will be one of seven taking place at 12:30 as part of the Living Well with Cancer conference. If you would like to attend this workshop please register to attend the conference at www.cancer.ie/living-well.
